What is your favorite source for seeds? Which seed company offers the best selection of perenial seeds at a good price? What does everyone think of the seed packets from Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart and local garden & hardware stores? Good, bad or indifferent?
Favorite Source for Seeds
I've ordered from Thompson/Morgan, Select Seeds, Veseys, Swallowtail, Value Seed and Parks. I know there is another in there, but I can't think of it off the top of my head. I have no complaints with any of the companies.
I get mine from my local garden center-Burpees, Livingston, Ferry-Morse, Botanical Interests, & Suttons-so far, so good...
My favorites are Gardens North, Swallowtail, Specialty Perennials and J.L. Hudson seeds. They seem to carry the best variety of seeds for shade. Gardens North is a little pricey but they moisture pack seeds that need it and the germination is very good.

I like Pinetree Garden Seeds, Seeds of Change, Grandma's Garden, and this year I found stuff at Baker Creek. I think Johnny's Selected Seeds is great, but haven't looked in on them lately.
As for seeds in Lowe's, etc., I sometimes pick up something there but usually I'm interested in other varieties than what they offer. Fitsy
Valueseeds, T&M, Parks, Swallowtail, Sunrise. That's all so far this year.
Seeds from Home Depot and Lowes are OK. Walmart, too, and Walgreens, but none of them tend to have the wide selection of things like online catalogues. Target usually has a pretty good selection I think.

Oh, and Territorial Seeds, too
I never had a problem with store-bought seeds, and I haven't 'sent away' for seeds in a long time, but my favorite source by far has been Dave's Garden. . . the swaps, the seed trading forum, s.a.s.e.'s, and even just people asking, "Do you want some of these?" It amazes me now. . . but wait 'til spring!
Diane's, J.L. Hudson, Pinetree, Territorial, Valueseeds.
I love the wide variety and hard to find selections at http://www.hardyplants.com/index.htm
I love the prices at Value Seeds. http://www.valueseeds.com/guides.html
Home Depot and Lowes, etc. seeds are OK too for me. It's just that they don't have the widest selection.
I enjoyed buying from Onalee's http://davesgarden.com/gwd/c/3443/ last year for my butterfly and hummingbird seeds.
Seed Saver's Exchange is fun for old fashioned seeds and plants and I like to support their cause.
Diane's is one of my favorites.
J.L. Hudson, Prairie Moon Nursery and Seed Savers. They are the only place I buy seeds, I do trade for them as well. J.L. Hudson doesn't have photos.

NO MORE! NO MORE.....I can't take it! I am spending all my time surfing for seeds....while the laundry piles up and the dirty dishes set......I have another hour before he gets home......
