CLOSED: ants
Ants usually lay or collect aphids and place them where insecticide dammage has occured. They naturally care for the aphid during their quiet cycle so the aphid provides the candy from the aphid excretion. That is what you probably are seeing. Most ants are from larvae (maggots) not eggs. I would wash off the plants twice weekly with a spray of fresh water and the aphid and ants will give up.
