Worthy of a Refund?

Elburn, IL(Zone 5a)

This is the carcass of a little tree I bought mail order last spring. It never did do worth a darn, so when it finally croaked I washed off its roots. I am going to demand my money back. Don't you think they should pay up?

That's pretty solid evidence of nursery malfeasance. I would and they should. It looks like whatever that was spent about two years too many in a two inch pot. What, may I ask, was it?

I have almost completely given up on buying container grown trees, I buy only semi-bareroot now. There is no telling how many trees are at nurseries right now that have roots like that, unless they're maybe grown in copper lined containers.

Definitely demand your money back. And post the name of the nursery as a warning to others.

I'd probably ask for my money back but I wouldn't necessarily post the name of the nursery if it was the only one in the order in that condition.

Kevin,
What species of tree was that? Was it rare?
Thanks,
Mike
