Ok - fess up ya'll ...

What is your tried & true soilless mix for seed starting? I want to make my own this year, So I'll do peat & perlite & maybe a little compost (I think). I may use those little peat disc's for poppies & other seeds that dont like being transplanted, maybe I'll finally have a sucessful poppy planting for a change! I'll be starting my WS this week.

I'm not sure of eact measurements. I use a large bleach bottle w/ the bottom cut out as my scoop...so based on that:
10-12scoops of peat
3 scoops of med perlite(add 1 or more scoops for plants that like sharp drainage)
1 scoop of vermucilite
5 T.super phosphate
6 T.lime
this is my seed starting mix. For growing off in pony packs or pots p to 4" I add equal amounts of shifted compost as the peat. For shrubs and trees Iin 1 gal or larger containers,I add 6-8 scoops of pine bark chips.

Thanks All! hey Laura, I cant come to the "07" Ia Roundup! :( My niece is getting married that day - how about a "08" rain check? Cant wait for 08 roundup! I just have neve had luck in sowing them, I'll try again this spring , I'm planning on winter sowing them.
