MG artwork

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

Okay, I promised I would post my first attempt in watercolors. I am still very unsure of what I'm doing, having never ventured into this media before. It took me 25 years to master oil and acrylic so my expectations were not that high!

Looks fantastic! Submit the artwork for a postage stamp!

Awesome! What fun to paint your own creation from your own flowers! That is very inspiring. :)

I think it's real nice!!

Beth, I think it's lovely. I can paint too, by # . LOL

I can just image the controversy over having an "invasive species" on a postage stamp! LOL.

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Beth - the painting looks nice...maybe when you grow out some US natives you can paint them and submit the native(!) species for a postage stamp...

I think "native" species would have a better reception for a postage stamp!

Interesting that our HP 2007 calendar has a MG on the cover.

Well,I did some morning glory artwork. :) I haven`t painted yet but I made some writing paper designs for fun. Something like this is a great rainy day project. This design is off center but I`ll fix it later.

This is after I worked on it some more. It is okay... not bad for a first try I guess.

Gee, that picture is bigger than I thought.

Here is one that I fixed in a simple style. I like this one better.

What program did you use to create it?

I`m trying out the Adobe Photo Deluxe. It is pretty much photo shop for Dummies. Here is the smaller picture for people with smaller monitors who like to see more than half of the picture at a time. :)

These printed up nicer than the pictures show. It was all light pastel color just right for writing a letter. It is still off center dang it but I don`t know how to use the grid thing or if it has one. I will need some kind of grid or there is no way I`ll center anything.

And I figured why not...a few gift tags. I think threads where more than one person shared some things they made pertaining to morning glories is a good idea. I think threads with themes like art and the history one Beth started with the old prints adds a little spice to the MG section. As long as it stays pretty much on topic it should be informative and also entertaining and inspiring.

Karen, nice work! I enjoy seeing the results of creative efforts! I would love to see more of this from others too.

Beth, thanks for starting the thread and sharing your painting as well! I'd like to do something along these lines also one day.....
