ws: cactus dahlia

Anybody winter sow these? I had a package of mixed cactus dahlia seeds and I have winter sown them today. I'm wondering if winter sowing them is the best way or just starting them under lights inside would be better.

Dahlias like more warmth. But you never know. I am not going to sow my dahlia seeds until later and when I do, they will be in warmer area. I would start them under lights for sure inside.

thanks,daisy! I'll revise my plan esp. since we're in the same zone. The dahlia do get a late start here.

Just start them inside then. Like in a larger pot so they will be a good size when you do plant them outside.

I did see some species Dahlias on a list of winter sown plants, but not hybrids like the cactus D.
