I am hoping maybe some of you Lily folks can help me with an id. I only know this as Augusta Lily, as it blooms in August. I was outside a bit again and foudn the pod I had misplaced and it had split open and I have bunche sof new litle seedlings trying to pop out. I just tried to transplant gently all I seen sprouted into a soiles s mix. Hopefully they will make it, btu it reminded me I really need to fidn out what these babies names are.
Posting a couple of pics from the friend who gave me my orginal bulbs.
Who am I?
I think they are Lilium formosanum

Their germination is also immediate, they can flower in one year from seed.
I agree formosanum
Are those the ones that die after flowering? I thought they were seven years to bloom.
That's pretty too, Wallaby. You guys are making me want to go visit each and every one of your lily gardens.
That was the last of 2 offsets I had from a bulb I bought, it flowered within it's 5th year, the other within the 4th year. I have more from those two than the first one, as they need at least 2 years in the ground to establish well to make more offsets. I still have probably 2 years to wait for the next flowers, but eventually I should get some every year! The offsets vary in size, they make new ones each year and the last lot are small.
Thank you very much for identifing my lily for me. : ) I really appreciate it. Now I can go back and look for that link I saw here in the forum to make sure I got the right propagation method for them.
