I've been using Method products for a while and I really like them. They aren't totally organic but they are certainly more natural than others. I love Whole Foods but the closest one to me is about 30 min away. We have a Tiger Mart (gas station, of all things!) that sells organic food and products now so I've been using more SG.
Thanks for reminding me about the aluminum. I've been meaning to try something natural. I do sweat but might be able to get away with it as long as I didn't stink! lol I stopped drinking sodas in cans for a long time but I've slowly started again because they are so much colder. I've got to stop drinking them altogether anyways.
I did buy an organic toothpaste by Kiss My Face this last week and I love it.
Gardening Resolutions for the New Year??
Yes...the canned drinks are good for people to know about also. I probably only drink about 2 or 3 a year....like if someone hands me one poolside or at a picnic!
Since I"m 55, my dentist made me buy some fancy-schmancy PRESCRIPTION tooth paste--of all things-- so I can't try the one you suggested, but it sounds good!
Regarding the aluminum deoderant post, I don't think either aluminum or not sweating is healthy. On the other hand, I dislike smelling uncivilized. I use Crystal Clean ~ Lady Speed Stick. It still allows you to perspire without the offensive odor. No aluminum in the ingredients.
speaking of living healthy, try googling autolyzed yeast extract. Those of you who don't want MSG in your food will find this interesting. It sure was a shock for me.
Thanks for the tip. I've tried a couple of different non-aluminum deodarants and was surprised that my body still produced the offensive odor after all these years. Blech, I went back to Secret.
I have read reviews that it works differently for others. I am not unhappy with it.
Hi Guys,
I forgot I started this thread! Glad it popped up, thanks to Podster!
My diet is still going well; I've lost 12 pounds so far! I"m doing a conbination of Dr. Atkins (which I know well, having lost about 30 pounds on before) and South Beach. Basially, since Jan 1 I have had NO candy, rice, potatoes, chips, sandwiches, bread, etc. It's not hard at all. It's just that after losing 10 pounds, the weight now is much harder to lose. I lose 3 pounds, then gain 2 in one night! I guess I eat too much!!
I'm wondering about the under arm thing....does one HAVE to sweat under the arms when we sweat other places? I know some lymph nodes are there..and guess they need to sweat out impurities...yuk to think we're storing them all up when we put on deod.....when I garden, go out to sun, etc. I never wear deoderant...just let it "all hang out"!!! :)
Silverfluter...I"m going to Google that this week...
I slept until 3:30 today. I have "blackout" curtains in my bedroom and I seemingly do not know how to awake without an alarm clock set! :)
BUT...I do have to go to work tomorrow...so I"m off to bed!!
About the tasteless store strawberries, the best strawberries I've ever tasted were at a pick-your-own place! I've never liked "store" strawberries ever since. I wish they weren't so hard to grow.
konkrete blond -
For a cheap non-toxic deodorant, mix one third baking soda with 2 thirds baby powder and pat it on with a powder puff. You can sweat - but no odor.
Thanks for the recipe! I've read about using baking soda but didn't know exactly what to do.
