Happy Birthday, Beaker_ch!!!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Have a wonderful day. I would paste one of those nice pics people post on birthdays, but if I don't get of the comp in exactly five seconds, husband is going to strangle me.

Beaker, all the best for your birthday and may all your lilies flourish.

These Calla lilies were picked today, majestic red, florex gold and treasure.

What beautiful blooms! Thank you, All.

Oh, Ferrymead, the Callas are so lovely. I'm so green with envy, but summer will be here again in a few months. Why do the summers go so fast and the winters so slow?

I've already started budgeting for my spring purchases. I'm hoping for some colder weather and snow so I can start my winter sowing. It's been way too warm of late and I'm beginning to worry we're going to have another crappy growing season. I'm also going to start some of the lily seed Pard sent me, Not sure how much luck I'll have. Generally, I don't have too much luck with seeds except for winter sowing, but I have new seed starting trays with lids where you can adjust for the humidity and I bought some Root Shield to ward off fungal diseases. I'll have my fingers crossed.

Thanks again and a Happy New Year to you All!

I'm sure your new tray will give good results, Ihope so for your sake. I started three lots of seeds in the Spring, hosta, agapanthus and snapdragons. Only the snapdragons did their thing.... oh, well, at least something grew.

Careful about those lidded trays, Beaker (and I still get a chuckle from that name). You want to remove the lids as soon as germination occurs. Otherwise seedlings will REALLY get spindly and weak.

Lefty, what lily is that in your photo? I love it.

Thank you, Maxine and Diann. I spent the afternoon playing Bingo and didn't win a darn thing. The day before, I went down to Prior Lake and picked out a new puppy. I don't get him til Jan 19th, but this was my birthday present to myself. He's the little guy in the middle.

What a nice trio. Maybe bingo? Patti

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Nope, already had a Bingo. He sort of bounced straight up when he ran. Have you ever watched Winnie the Pooh on Disney? Sort of the way Tigger moves.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh how cute, he looks like a baby polar bear! :) I bet he'll snuggle real good. :)

Cute puppies, Beak. That should keep you busy until planting time.... ;0)
