This is the last thread of this topic for the year of 2006. By next week we will be into another year. For most of us it has been a good year of weight loss or at least maintaining, struggling with old habits that just don't want to go away, etc. We have gained new family members, lost a couple, and some came and only stayed a few weeks. We welcome all newcomers and wish they would stay with us. Old habits die hard so I'm sure they are still battling them.
To those who find us this new year, welcome. We have no rules for weight loss and eating here, any diet is accepted as long as it is balanced and healthy(we're gentle when we point out hazardous eating styles), we get off topic often, and are here to support and encourage each other. We all fall off the healthy lifestyle wagon sometimes and need to just get up and start over where we left off. One meal at a time is the best way for most of us. We have some family members here who are dedicated body builders and exercisers, some of us mostly just try to get in some exercise on a fairly regular basis, and others who have reached their goal and are just maintaining by sheer determination and lots of support from family and friends.
My scales gave me a real jolt this morning. 135# I haven't weighed this much in some time. I wish I could say it is just water weight, but I doubt that it is. Funny tho, I don't feel the extra pounds which is unusual. I think the Christmas weekend and visit to Kris is what did the damage. Just too much candy that I love sitting around.
I had a fairly good eating day yesterday. WW toast with p. butter and a banana in the morning hours, very little lunch, 4 or 5 small cookies in the afternoon, then a huge chef type salad when I got home last night. I used cottage cheese mixed with bleu cheese dressing for the dressing. I did get in the 64 oz. of water.
Today I will see what I can cut out to help me get rid of those extra pounds and maybe get more exercising done in the next week or so. I think life is going to finally settle down a bit now. I sure hope so.
Pebble, how is the store coming along? Lots of customers? And are they buying or just looking?
Kim, how are your parents doing? I think of them often and pray they are getting stronger and feeling better. All those trips to hospitals/clinics, etc. so far away can really wear a person down.
Debbie, I'm glad your dad is better and home for now at least. What was the final diagnosis? You probably told us but I didn't catch or remember it. I think I remember he has to be careful with what he eats. How is your mother? This has been hard on her too.
Chuck, the cheesecake is gone now, so it can no longer temp you. That is how I look at foods like that. Just eat it or throw it out and then go on with life. I don't think I could throw out cheesecake. LOL
Tricia, good to see you now and then. You are a very busy person. All that sewing you have been doing is wonderful. I'm not much of a seamstress. My sister is tho. She does beautiful work with fabric.
Anna, those holiday treats were good for you. You eat so strictly so much of the time that you and your DH need those trips to forbidden food territories sometimes. And your exercise programs and determination really amaze me. I get sore and tired just thinking about them. :>)
Elaine, you are going great. That new rotissorie(?)sounds wonderful. I think I would like chicken fixed like that. Not sure about the veggies or steaks tho. I don't have storage room for something like that tho and wouldn't use it often enough to pay to have one. I don't think Kyle and Holly would either or I would get one for us to share.
We got some much needed rain last night. I don't have the rain guage out anymore so I don't know how much and I slept thru the weather report/news time this morning. The puddles in the drive look like it could have been about 3/4" tho. It is suppose to rain most of the weekend I think. We need it. I think we will end the year about 8" to 10" short again.
Must go let the birds out and get started on the day. GOD bless and keep each of you.
