I was doing some research today and ran across this publication about using simple homemade devices to collect and clean native seeds. Many of the techniques are probably applicable to a lot of garden species too.

I hope this inspires someone to create new techniques of their own.
Simple tools for collecting and cleaning seeds
Interesting site Katlian - I wouldn't have thought of using the food processor thinking it would chop them up, but it doesn't seem to. Although what they want with thousands of elderberry seeds I don't know. They grow wild around here and I make lovely elderberry syrup and wine so wouldn't want to wash the pulp down the sink.
