Well, LOL, my bid is in! I trust the opinion of those of you who have spoken out regarding the Seller. My other question is on the pod parent. His pod parent photo shows a single white flower but a Google shows that Monica's "Engelsglöckchen" is a double white, any comments ?

I love that Yellow also Doris....it's gorgeous, but my heart belongs to the Lilac and the extreme longshot of baby lilacs :))
God bless everyone, Margo

Margo, did you have to get permission to have them sent or was nothing said about that in the info.

I went back to read all on his add, I would be carefull.

Seeds are mother nature´s product -so I ´ don´t know what kind of blossom you get.

Getting permission to have them sent falls on the receiver in this country. The sender won't be penalized. You can get the small lot license pretty quickly. My husband applied on line, and now just has to go there with his ID - and then he'll have it. We did it that way because he's off work in the morning and I work a regular shift so I can never get there during their normal working hours. I'll just have seeds sent in his name if I ever bid on any.

I think he is doing his best, despite the language difference (German), to inform potential buyers who don't understand the probabilities involved with the crossing of pollens, that the outcome can be just about anything. If he wasn't as savvy as I know him to be, or if he was trying to mislead, he would assure that the seed would definitely be one or the other variety.

He is also warning customers to make sure seeds of this kind can enter their respective countries. He certainly cannot be appraised of all regulations in all countries.

Any vendor selling seed can do no more than this when their product is offered, and experience with particular vendors over a period of time is reference enough.

I am painfully aware of an eBay vendor who sells seed hand over fist, has a great rating, but chooses to black out "sell to" dates on the backs of his seed packs. So, the seed is sold beyond it's date of optimum viability. Sure, you give the guy a great rating because they arrived quickly, but you have to withstand the insult of that scratched out sell date and the duds in your seed tray.

Volker's seeds sprout, produce and in the end...delight. Good enough for me and the many others who have dealt with him. Of course, each person must make the leap of faith individually.

Margo 'Engelsglöckchen' is not a double. It is an arborea type with slightly larger than normal flowers. It also differs from "ordinary" arborea in not being self-fertilising: i.e. it doesn't automatically set fruit like wild type arborea does (or so I have read!)..

Thank you very much Alistair. The google left me very confused, not a hard thing to do :) God bless, Margo
