Do any of you grow this shrub, Halesia diptera? I would like to know what it's likes and dislikes are, and if there are any certain diseases that it may get.

The variety magniflora is supposed to be superior, larger flowers, better growth. I've only grown it for not quite one year. So far no problems. I have seen plants at nurseries of this or H. carolina that suffered badly from over-watering. So, based on that, I'd give them decent drainage. I'm growing H. carolina from seed in containers with no issues and good steady growth.

That suprises me about the over watering issue since it is a bottomland species. If anything I figured it would be easily stressed by drought.
