Salix help...

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Ok was out and about and wanted to know how can I tell a exigua, gooddingii, and nigra apart? I took cuttings from several small trees, loads of branches and standing about 10 foot tall in the said of the roadways. They are not the weeping or hybrid willows and I have narrowed it down to these three - there is just very little information and photos to tell what one is what. All three are listed native in my area and there are old trees I am told in groves near here and I might just have to travel there but just hoping for a little help here first...

Thanks Mitch

Photos. Some people love a good hunt.

Here are links that might mention some differences-

Good links - can you tell from the dormant photos? I will get out and get some if you can. Mitch

Incredible, got a question: ask Equil.

Hmmm, I wouldn't get overly impressed. I cut and paste well ;)
