From our local newspaper.
Firefighters were called to a Hanson Medical Center Wednesday morning by a cleaner who found the building full of smoke.
Firefighters traced the smoke to a men's restroom, where burning debris from an overheated fan in the ceiling had fallen into a wastebasket.
"The burning debris ignited the waste paper in the basket, then heat from the burning basket melted the cold water supply to the toilet a few inches away," according to the Fire Chief. "The cold water line then leaked, and the spraying water extinguished the fire."
"In my 34 years in the fire service, I have seen this phenomenon exactly twice, both within a few days of Christmas." Fire chief Hoyt, said.
No injuries were reposted.
Pretty cool.
