Hi ... just incase anyone wonder whats going on with me ... I am on a walker now and I am alwyays in pain. I take one Lortabs every four hours. I take two to get to work and two to get in the car and drive home... My coworkers come down most of the time with the wheelchair to get me to he office ... thats when I am doing really bad....The 28th I go meet with the surgeon... I hope he gets me in before the end of the year because I have reached my deductible and I dont want to get up off 1k at this time...this depresses me too ... I will need to take a leave of absence for this procedure ... which means no cash coiming .... this depresses too I hate to hit you guys up with all this at this time but I thought you might want to know whats going on with me. I have been too depressed to get on the computer .... it sucks!

Sylvia, the most anyone can expect from this life is the love of your many friends. You are many times blessed w/so many people who have come to your aid in your time of need. Those same friends are still there and you have gathered many more in the course of your "moving party" and all of us are praying for you at this particularly holy time of the week and year. Hi Everyone........
I really didnt want put a damper on everyone's spirit ... so became a recluse, I hurt all the time mostly .. or I am scared to move for fear of hurting ... its a mess I am in. I go to see the surgeon thursday morning ... hopefully he will say something about what or when he is goin to do this Hip!
I seem to always discover new pain. now I wake up every two hours with both of my legs and thighs throbbing ... and I take the pain pills but they dont help with this throbbing. I still go to work, getting in and out the car is pure torture., as well as getting in and out the bed, the door,th bath tub etc. I make it to the kitchen to make coffee, but I spill half of before I get back to my bedroom ... because you cant carry anything in your hands when you got to hold on to a walker!
......... enough already!!! I am blessed it could be worse! anyway I will let you guys know what happens thursday.
Linda did you really come through here? you should have stopped! :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well gang I went to see my surgeon today, and my surgery is sheduled for January 16th! I feel better already. The doctor is a very nice person and he appears to have all ducks in a row.
Anyway you wont believe what happen to me coming out building. Have you ever seen anyone on a walker going thru Revolving doors? .... well I did! When I realized it I tried to move the walker faster to keep up, in doing so i think I tripped on the walker, fell flat on my hiney , still in the revolving doors. Everybody came running, and asking me all these questions as i lay there spread eagle. It was the most embarrising moment in my life. They were sending for a stretcher, management came, my name and address and whom I was there to see.meantime I am still laying there ...I asked them to please get me up, get my car and let me out of there .... now I got more problems ... my butt hurts and I am sore all over. lol

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

Bless your heart! It never rains but it pours!

Sending you healing and love.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Okay, if you have surgery on the 16th, Tues, will you be out by the wkend? I've marked my calendar & just may have to bring you a bunch of chicken soup!
Take care & stay OUT of revolving doors!!! :~)

SE Houston (Hobby), TX(Zone 9a)

Silvia,
I'm saying prayers for you, too!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh Sylvia bless your heart, that was so unfortunate, I hope you are not hurting a lot worse.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Sylvia, my grandmother got her dress hung in an escalator when I was a kid. It pulled her down, and she caused a lot of excitement. She was visiting us and had taken a taxi downtown to shop. The store manager called my mother to pick her up. She was not hurt, and we laughed about it, but she was so embarrassed at the time.

I'm so glad your surgery will be soon. By the time spring arrives, you'll be in good shape for gardening. (My grandpuppy had hip replacement surgery in San Antonio this week, came home the next day, and picked up his ball wanting my son to throw it for him. He's got a couple of weeks of therapy and rehab before he's allowed to chase the ball. Hope your recovery is just as fast and you feel frisky right away!)

Patricia

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear from you and that you did not hurt yourself bad. Just stay away from the escalators now. Praying for you. Ted

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

At least it wasn't raining for real!!!! I am glad you have decided to go through with the surgery. Hopefully it will be an answer to our prayers for you.
Oh, you need to have someone build you a small landing with a ramp out of your back door where the small steps are. It will really help you get in and out.so much easier.
Take care, keep us updated as to the hospital, etc. too.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

I told you!
It is on my calendar!!
You have d-mail!!
Love ya!!!!

NE Medina Co., TX(Zone 8a)

My DH has fallen just about everywhere (not to mention how many places he's passed out or had seizures in), so you're not alone! Usually there's no graceful way out when that happens and all the hubbub can make you feel even worse, I know! And the VA hospital made changes to the hospital handicapped doors that made it harder for the handicapped. So now many of the guys on scooters (including DH) try to make it through those huge revolving entrances. It tends to stop if you get too close, but it's now faster for the scooter guys than the handicapped doors. Bless ya, Sylvia, the good Lord owes you a better outcome this time!

Has anybody talked to or heard anything about Sylvia since her surgery yesterday?

No I haven't heard anything Pat.

Godspeed, Sylvia!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I received an update from her friend and co-worker Juanita today.

"Hi I'm Juanita, Sylvia's friend. She is doing good. Her surgery went well. She will probley get to go home Saturday. They are going to walk her after lunch and see how she does. They have her sit in bed then lay her self down to see how she does. She did it very well."

She is on the mend and will be able to sleep in her own bed soon. Just hope she can get up into it. She said the new bed was high and was using a stool before surgery!
