The Ho-Hum dreary days of winter

The taliensis is growing pretty good. The jury is still out on the true taliensis.

'Sir John Falstaff' is a real contrast between adult and juvenile leaves.

Here is a small leaf heracleifolia for lack of ID. The new leaves look like aliens.

'PHOE's Cleo' is basically leafless (it may have 3 leaves left) but the blooms and new leaves are encouraging.

Last one - just some seedlings from a dropped capsule. I think they are from either 'Sinbad' or 'Di-Erna' (or something very similar).

Butch, they're all very nice but love the acida, very impressive begonia, and Guy Savard.

Hi Begoniacrazii, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all those begonia links you made available to everybody. I spend many hours looking for a very particular type of begonia I had many years ago and finally found it becaue of all your hard work. It is a very old fashioned cane type called "Lucerne" and was introduced in 1892. Unfortunetley it was available in an English nursery. At least I now know what it is called and will be on the lookout for it. I'm new to Dave's Garden and find it a most fascinating place. I love it..Thanks again.

Ahhh, spring is in the air!
Found this hanging beauty with 4 begonias in it at Oakland Longs yesterday for $29.99! From Cottage Garden Growers, last one. I was tempted to keep it for myself but I gave it to my Mom, as a gift from my in-laws who had asked that I get her flowers. Live ones are so much better than ones that die within a week, don't ya think?!
She loved it!

Another view. The big fat blooms are coming from the curly leafed one, lower left. Uh, I think anyways.

Last view. Does give me ideas for pretty pot combos with the bacopa and ferns.

Sue, that's lovely. Can see why you were tempted to keep it.
I prefer to give and receive living plants too.

Sue,
That is gorgeous! Hope it grows enough for you Mom that you can get cuttings and do one for yourself. Live plants are a wonderful gift.

Hey Sue! Glad to see you posting in begonias! I saw those baskets at Sloats a few weeks ago. They are beauties!
