seed ID Please

Name my seeds please. Never saw a flower only the seed pod. I thought I had a picture of the pod but I can't find it. I remember it being kind of long not round like regular morning glory. The leaves were different too.

Those look 'unusual' to me...the shape and color don't match...especially the very dark hilium in relation to the seedcoat color...I'm tempted to postulate something in the batatas series like Ipomoea cordatotriloba, but they don't look 'correctly' like any I.cordatotriloba that I've seen...

I'd like to see a larger seed sample if possible...do you have any dried seedpod material left(?)...

What did the leaves look like...

Here is a picture of the leaves, although not a great shot. I will post a close up of the seeds later. My camera is on loan.

luvsgrtdanes - The photo of the leaves helps...the leaves look like a Merremia along with the 'reddish'(?) pigmented stems, although much more dissected than the usual Merremia aegyptia...and the seeds have a Merremia look to them...although the very dark hilium is still unusual to me...the seed color and size closely resembles Merremia aegyptia...although what seems to be an almost blackish hilium is unusual...

Hope that helps...

Thanks Ron. I am looking here and thinking... http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/87166/ maybe my seeds just weren't mature? I am going to see if they will germinate and grow it inside for the winter. Won't hurt... nice experiment
