g_m, believe me, I'm not out there doing ANYTHING strenuous when it's in the 90s, especially since the humidity is also in the 90s! Or if I am, it's five minutes at a time and then a tall glass of iced herb tea. I think people up north (and perhaps out west?) plan things in the winter and execute them spring and summer. I have summer for planning, and do the real work in the spring and fall.
Then along comes a hurricane and I get to start all over again... yippie... but hopefully the wind will just go through the arbor rather than taking it down entirely. We shall see.

Thanks! It's been an education. I have a much better idea of what will survive summer, what not to plant next to which, etc. Next year, it should be even better!
And did you notice I have passifloras on the arbor? They're wonderful, and the hummingbirds and bees love them.
