Yes, it is a lily. The green near the center and the shape, makes me think it might be an Asiatic named Navona, but it could be many others.

You're welcome! Watch out, lilies can be very addictive. Here is American Style, one I enjoyed last summer.

That one got about 7 ft tall last summer and the blooms are maybe 8" in daimeter. I looked at your beautiful crocosmia. Fantastic, but I don't think they would like the weather in Nebraska.

So, is that poor little lily tucked into a clump of daylilies?

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Yes that poor little lily IS tucked in amongst a load of lilies.............. but not daylilies, well maybe one!!!!

Mark, many of the Oriental/Trumpet lilies (like the one Susan posted) are reported to tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, so I would'nt rule them out. Huge, showy, and sooooo fragrant- definitely worth a try! Hehehehe..... trying to tweek you into temptation, lol. As you lure others into crocosmia fascination, you'll be lured into lily fascination too!
