I have rooted several cuttings of Rose of Sharon...Hibiscus

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I needed to figure out whether to pot them up and hold them in the basement for the winter, or if I can go ahead and put them outside for the winter....in the ground....just wasn't sure how hardy they are when they are just rooted...if that makes sense...thanks for any info..;.

J, if rooted plantlets are 6" or less, I would protect this winter. Also, if you have several, you can always experiment and protect some and let others to fend for themselves. After all, this is a tough plant

I think I may plant some of them and put a water bottle over them and see how they do...I know they are really tough, so I may pot a couple and plant the rest...I am so excited they rooted so well in the bubbler! I am potting up brugs tonight too...I know a lot of people don't pot them, and I am new at this, but I have plenty of room in the basement and it is not heated, but not freezing either...so I guess I am taking my chances with them...I am not much for having things I have to baby too much..LOL Thanks for the help! I loved that Crocosmia site..beautiful plants, but not much info on where in the USA we can get them...

I just planted out ROS cuttings and they survived. My conditions are pretty different than yours, though.
