Yankee, It's nice to know you love us best!
Gram, Sorry to hear about your family. A hurricane in Dec.?? How weird. Hope they are all OK.
Edit to say, you are bascally right. It's phonOphobia.

Weather
I love PhonOphobia! I spent years, in business, on the phone and I gave up pantyhose and phones.
Happy Birthday Dawn!

Yankee - I forgot I was going to give you a hard time about the Northwest Forum - you really should keep your secrets to yourself.
Jan - a hurricane in LA?
Happy Birthday!
Tom
Al - I edited out my typo - so you can't give me a hard time - about that anyway.
It's going to be 65 degrees here Saturday. 'tis the season for global warming.
I saw mosquitos in my compost today. Not a good sign to see mosquitos in January.
It's 66 degrees here right now! Windy too. Sun's shining! Unbelievable......
Are there any risks to my newly planted gardens? for instance, I have a little lilac, and a clemantis starting to leaf out.
Seandor
As long as they were planted at the right depth there should be no lasting ill effects.
It was 58 degrees here in Central Maine, Southern Maine hit over 60. On my way into town, I saw an amazing sight, but of course I didn't have my camera w/me! The air was so warm that the lake looked like someone had one of those fog machines on it and was just pumping out the fog for all it was worth! You could not see one speck of water, just fog rolling off the top of it... it was pretty neat, almost erie. By the time I got back home it was to dark to take a picture...maybe it will do the same tomorrow!
It was 70 degrees here today. I worked outside and took pictures of the flowers blooming! I have pansies in bloom and there is some ground ivy blooming. There is one flower ready to open on the forsythia and several of my bulbs are sprouting. This is unreal.
We only made it to 63 degrees but there wasn't any wind and I spent a lovely afternoon in the garden.
It peaked at 70 degrees today. My wife's bees were out today and they were actually bringing pollen back with them. They were all over my heather bush. I wonder where else they were getting their pollen from?

I was out loading up a dumpster today. Must have been 70. Daffs and tulips are up 3-5 inches. My perennial forget-me-nots were blooming. Nice but scary weird.
