A good seed company

Floyd, VA(Zone 6b)

I have found Crosmanseeds to be a fine company: quick, plenty of seeds, good varieties, and very inexpensive: I mean .69 and .79 a pack. You really can't beat that!
I can't wait to sow the varieties I purchased recently. They are a very old company too, not the new kid on the block.

Do they have a website with on-line shopping?

They have a website Shirley, but you have to mail your order to them.

Actually, Crosmans has a telephone number. I just called them and gave my order over the phone along with my Visa card #. I think I must have ordered one of everything last year from valueseeds. I am hoping they will expand their 7 pages to many more.

Thanks Connie & Ada. I'll definitely check out Crossmans.

Dori, you are so right. Valueseeds is an excellent website!

I'm wondering if valueseeds is ever going to update this year. I placed several orders from them last year, three I think. And I believe that when I found them last year their listing was 12 or 14 pages long. As of now there's just not much I want on the 7 pages. I don't know whether I'll order from them if they don't expand the offerings.

Hi Karen,

They did update about 2 weeks ago to 13 pages. It has gone back down very quickly as they sell out of the new varieties.

The seed catalogs are beginning to roll in!

I've received Pinetree Garden Seed catalog http://www.superseeds.com and Territorial Seed catalog http://www.territorial-seed.com/stores/1/index.cfm .

Which seed catalogs have arrived in your mailbox?

I'm very happy that I read this thread reminding me to check the value seed web site.I have ordered from them at least 10 times and have been very happy with their seeds. They do change their offerings frequently but I haven't visited them in a few months.I found another $30 worth of seed to order and many were below their usual .99 cent price.

They are operated by Thomson and Morgan Seeds and are probably left overs but as I wrote the germination rate is very good.

Also thanks for the new (for me) web site.

There are so many wonderful and affordable seed websites! I love Thompson and Morgan. I've 'devoured' their colorful seed catalogue more times than I can count. Plus, they also offer 'discounted' seeds throughout their catalogue that are just to good to pass up!

I am waiting for an order from seedman.com. they had a 50% off sale that I caught at the last minute. and they have a lot of unusual seeds...bananas and things like that.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

grampapa: you did really well with a 50% off sale through seedman.com!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner. I would have posted. the seed starting stuff (their potting mix and kits for difficult-to-germinate seeds) were 25% off

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

There's always next years sale!
