Somatic hybrids / protoplast fusion
I'll try anything once. I love the pain of defeat so much I'll even try something two, three, or even four times. Now, you are talking two totally separate entities so what did you have in mind to play with first that would be down low low low in my skill set? I know there's a lot of work out there with somatic hybrids in attempts to create plants that have tolerances to different pathogens and/or pests but I've never tried to asexually fuse two protoplasts. I think I'd be more inclined to want to try my hand at fusing them into a single cell. I'm game. What do we want to experiment with that might yield some results in the next decade? Tell me blow by blow what I need to be able to play a little bit. I've always wanted to try something like this in my kitchen. The thought of using magnesium sulfate doesn't bother me.
