Memories

Poland, ME

Just taking a few minutes to organize some of last summer photos and came across this one. Had to share. It is only a distant memory now..

I just finished uploading more recent photos from my library of photos to my photobucket page. Please feel free to "stroll through" memory lane. One thing you will notice is that we had a VERY WET year!

Ahh.... I can almost smell them. Have any more 'garden' pics?

Enjoyed checking out your vast lily collection. Dots and Dashes was singularly unique. My favorite was Salmon Star which I tried to get this past summer but wasn't able to score. Dutch Gardens instead sent 10 Muscadets. When I told them I had no desire to get what I already had, they let me pick my own replacement and keep the Muscadets. I asked for and received Black Beauty.

Yes! Summer gardens on a wet Fall day with Christmas Carols in the air...

Awesome collection! Now that the cold grip of winter is here I only have my seedlings and pictures of this past summer! Until next spring...

WOW! Mainiac
I went to the Photobucket link and those are so beautiful! We are having a record low temp tonight. Single digits in December. That is just what I needed. I am only a novice on this site but they are reeling me in.

That is so beautiful Mainiac. I love your lilies and your yard. So very beautiful. I want to stick my nose in the blooms. Are they fragrant?

Just think, this is what you will have to look forward to after a long winter and spring.

Such beautiful lilies, Maniac! I want to keep your slideshow in mind when ordering more Asiatics. Some were beyond description that could do them justice.

Do the trumpet lilies take longer to bloom? All my asiatic ones bloomed the first season. I purchased a African Queen bulb and it grew quite tall but no blooms. :(

Trumpets should bloom a little later than Asiaitics. But as you can see from the picture I had a lot of Asiaitics still blooming when these bloomed. If your trumpet didn't bloom it was probably now settled in enough to establish for bloom that year or too small. Trumpet bulbs are usually much larger than Asiaitics, Trumpets and Orientals are fragrant. Asiaitics are not. OT's are usually fragrant also. By having a variety of lily types, you can have lilies blooming for a couple of months!

I am a newbie to these types of lilies. I found the A Q bulb while visting my daughter in Ohio. It was HUGE, so maybe it is just getting adjusted.
