And another...if you look closely at the first pic, above the bottom little guy's head, you will see the tail of the 4th. There were actually 6 in the tree. We had just drove up to my Aunt and Uncle's to take pictures of a deer. DH noticed the raccoons going up the tree. He already had his camera but had to adjust it due to the darkness of the evening, these are what he got. Cool, huh?
They are all over around here. No one ever goes out to get pictures. It's not like they are friendly. DH wanted the pics so he braved it :-) DPs have them all over too.

Thuja plicata 'Little Rascals'...

Any cones among the coons?

Looks too blue to be Thuja plicata, but that could just be an effect of the flash.

I'll have to take a look for the cones. I haven't checked out the family trees yet. Hmmmm?
AND LET ME TELL YOU! I WAS NOT getting close enough to look for cones among the coons last night!
DA said they were really cute decsending..Two by two, the last two not quite sure.
I asked if they had ever noticed them up there before? They hadn't but figure the dog has when she has been looking out the window barking at night.
They have large picture windows, second story that look right into the tree.

Oh those are great pics. Yes, they are bold aren't they? I ran after one with a broom once, it was too close to my little daughter who was frozen on her tree swing, the brazen hussy stood her ground and started to chatter. I guess her baby was already up in that same tree. After a brief stand-off, I grabbed my girl and made a run for it.

DS, 21, 6'2" was scared to death by them one night when he caught them off guard at his place after arriving home. Mamma had three babies and was not happy, was growling. Cody said he "screamed like a girl." LOL I had a great time imagining that one.

Camping this summer without a tent oldest dear son and girlfriend were sleepin gin the back of the truck with one of those fold down outdoor canopies over them (they thought they could get a Yurt on demand because it was Sept...dufus!) they had put their ice chest under the tailgate...duh again....and Rackie and her family decided they needed snack. DS's girl had to chase them off as he protected "The safe zone" in the truck bed with the flashlight. They slept in the truck the rest of the night and know now reservations at the state parks for any Yurts, cabins, ect are a must. I just love these stories...............How did I raise such big, brave boys? You can see they didn't get it from their dad. LOL

The tree does look like a Thuja plicata, I'll have to look closer in the light.
