This species of palm is apparently growing in Alaska on one of the coastal islands (but I haven't heard if they are still around), Iceland (with significant protection), Scotland, Germany, etc. They don't even flinch in our winter.
This is Jubaea chilensis (Chilean Wine Palm) that's been in the ground for about 4 years.
