I meant to thank Ronna for the gesture to pay for me if I won. That is so nice of you.

I would like to thank those that took the time to enter my contest as well as the judges for taking time to pick the winners. It showed me what people have learned about me over the years. Not that I am a generous person but my love for life and all the beautiful things God has created for me/all of us to enjoy. Only one thing everyone missed and that was my main goal after getting in the new house. Getting a new wildlife habitat back up as fast as possible since all the animals were as hard hit as we were by Katrina in deaths and no available food sources for our year round birds as well as the ones migrating down for the big trip across the gulf. Larry(Elyearcrazy) came and spend 2 full days planting all the plant everyone here sent me and some I bought since I am no long able to do much planting. I appreciate the fact that some of you pay attention to what I have posted over the years and have taken the time to get know me a little. I have made some great friendships here at Daves. Many of us that are fairly near each other get together several times a year in fact I just had a little get together and I ended up with a belated surpise Birthday party lol. My first one. I was wondering why everyone was so against me making my famous Pineapple Upside Down cake for the big barbaque(they had a birthday cake hidden lol). DH was off work so he took us all out in the boat for a nice 2 1/2 hour ride to the river. Wow what a heavenly day it was.

Sunset Beach, NC(Zone 8a)

Congrats to the winners! Although a late posting, here's what I'd like to say about Donna:

What a wonderful thread this was and how generous of Donna. I've gotten a little tired of mailing cuttings etc and haven't been doing it for awhile, but Donna has moved me to offer cuttings to folks in need.

Mine aren't ones in high demand and I don't know the names of most, but can be enjoyed. Newbies might really like to have them. I have Chas. Grimadli, Dr. Suess, Pink Floyd, Frosty Pink , and a wonderful white that is highly fragrant to offer as cuttings. I have some others but they won't offer large cuttings till next year. Also, I won't be cutting again for a couple of weeks since I'm getting one more small flush and I'd like to see it through.

So if you'd like to have some, dmail me. I'll send cuttings that have "y'd" so next year should be a nice show. Please don't misunderstand what I'm about to say, but if you are financially pressed right now, I'll gladly pay for the postage. Just let me know.

It's kinda' like the movie Pay It Forward.........you're supposed to do something nice for someone and they will do something nice for someone in the future when they "Pay It Forward". Everyone on DG has been so nice to me now it's time for me to "Pay It Forward".

Thank you, Donna, for reminding me and motivating me to do this.

Barbara

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Barbara you are a wonderful person for offering this.
I don't need any more cuttings or I would be hollering real loud.

I, TX(Zone 8a)

You folks have got to be some of the most generous, caring people in the garden world. Reading all the posts inspires me to have a better yard and garden after two so so years.

Have a good day everyone.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

After reading this I too chose a winner, my choice is ma vie rose. She has been though alot and
like she said even homeless. I know this to be true . I will be sending her a box of cuttings and hope someone else will do the same. I love jesus was my 2nd choice, but she will be getting a box from Donna and has also been blessed with a new computer from DG ers.Isnt giving awesome?

elva

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

I sent ma vie a box of cuttings last week. If I had won the contest I was going to suggest sending to ma vie. I hadn't thought about Sandy at that time.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You guys are so nice. Donna told us she was sending a box to Ma Vie before the contest was even over to get her started again with them, so do not worry! Donna is just like that. So very nice! And Sandy almost won on her very own entry.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

My package of cuttings came this afternoon and I am so thrilled! Thank you so much Donna, I never dreamed that I would have so many of these newer brugs. I have them in a bucket with superthrive and peroxide and I will watch them like a hawk. I think as soon as they start to make lenticles, I will put rooting powder on them and pot them up.
Hopefully I will be able to share these with other members next year.
Donna I hope the weather clears up for you and you don't have damage to this yard!
Thank you and I hope your cuttings adjust to living in Michigan.
Bonnie

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I also sent MaVie cuttings last week, I hope each cutting she receives brings a tear of joy to her eyes. She's cried enough tears of sadness I'm sure.

Judy

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I sent some to Ma Vie today

Myrtle Beach, SC

Donna, Barb and all....what a wonderful bunch you are. You are all in my prayers. God bless you for being so caring. Love, Margo

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Margo,

I think it is wonderful that you got some of the cuttings!!!

Judy

Myrtle Beach, SC

Hugs Judy ! But, I didn't get any of Donna's cuttings..at least not to my knowledge :))
God bless, Margo

Sunset Beach, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey Margo!

How are you? I haven't seen you around the garden for awhile.

The wonderful fragrant white brug cuttings that I offer above are from the cutting you sent me last year! That thing grew about 7' tall and about 5' around! I've loved it and think of you often while enjoying it.

Even though it has been in mostly morning sun but all the way till about 2:00 PM, our FL sun is just so-o-o hot for som many brugs. You should have seen what I did.......I got a beach umbrella and would cover it frequently in August to protect it from the hot sun. It looked funny, but seemed to work. I just wish I had a little more filtered sun. Oh, well.

Still looking for takers for some cuttings in a week or two.......

Take care, Margo and have a nice Thanksgiving.

Best,
Barbara

Have you all seen the ebay auction for meadow princess. Currently 50.00 for 3 small cuttings. Very pretty but would definitely put a dent in my budget.
