So, which part of the garden were you standing in when you yelled out Hoodi - hoo?

i cant wait for spring!
What in the world are those?
Dori, Those are great!
Oh....made my day...It is cold, wet and dreary here. Spring is a dream here...but one that comes closer each day!!
Your garden is an inspiration to me... This time I saved your photos to my favs so whenever winter gets me down, I can visit your spring garden!
Peggy
Dori,
Although we don't have snow here, nor consistent freezing temps, it only takes one night of 12 degrees to put everything down for the rest of the season. My point being:
Watching your garden go from the seemingly vast wasteland of winter to those beautiful gardens of spring and summer, reminds me that one day my gardens might be half as wonderful as yours.
You have the golden touch (ahhh they call that the green thumb, LOL) in the gardens and I really admire your talent and energy.
Molly
:^))))
Dori, your gardens are lovely and an inspiration. How much land do you have?
thankz everyone for your comments-it makes all the work worth it! :)
plantnutz i live on a 160 acre centennial farm(3 houses on land)
we own 5 acres of that and i have about 1acre of gardens!
Whoa girl! You have lots of space to play.
Should be called "Way better than Martha"
Have you done time?
Just Beautiful! Very inspiring. I love the paths and garden art that you have throughout, too. The flowers go without saying ... a dream - to be sure! You have a talent and an artistic eye for colors and textures ... something that I lack. Thanks for sharing all the gorgeous photos! I wished I lived closer so I could get a real-life tour. I have but a residental lot (small) and big dreams! LOL! Thanks for sharing your gardens with all of us! It was a joy to see! :-) :-)
Thank you for sharing - just came across this during a very COLD winter morning. Can't wait for flowers again - lovely garden and combos !!! (and cute grand kids, which you do not look old enough for, btw )
Dave47 LOL never done time anywhere but in the garden!
thanks everyone!

Your gardens are exquisition. I agree with an earlier post; I think I'll have to connect some of my gardens. Thanks for sharing. Helen
Your garden looks especially wonderful on a cold day in January. Thanks for the pleasure.
Dori - your gardens are beautiful! How long have you been working on them? Helen
I have been at them going on 12yrs now! single handed too!!!
Its a lot of work=but your comments help make it worth it
I'm always looking for inspiration. We're starting on our field this year. My plan is to get all the hard, heavy stuff done before we retire. I'm looking forward to putzing in the garden for many years in my old age. Hubby does help with the heavy lifting and digs most of the big holes for me but I do the rest. I know what you mean. it's tough to do it all. My job gets in the way too much! :-) Helen
Here I am wide awake at 3:00 AM (spam message on my cell phone, and that was the end of my night), cruising Dave's when I spyed your first picture and had to see the rest. Mmmmm, what a wonderful pick-me-up for a nasty cold day in March! I've started planting at this house, but my gardens are only a year old, so I have a lot of work to do. Your pics were such an inspiration...I know it's only a few more weeks 'till I see the green sprouts from what I planted last year. HURRY, SPRING!!
Wow Dori! There was even more to your gardens! You wouldn't be thinking of selling your house would you?
dave i can never sell this place its family owned for over 100yrs
You will have to get adopted! :)
my college is already paid for!
Dori...oh what beauty you have created! Thanks for sharing with us. I've never tried growing Lupines but would like to try those, delphiniums and larkspurs some time. So many beautiful flowers; love the clematis, the iris, the painted daisies. I already forgot what else I saw. So much to see. Ever try to post a slideshow of all yur pictures. I'm computer challenged so have no idea what all is involved in that process but slideshows allow you not to have to click on each picture individually, making it go so much faster for the viewer. You're very creative and keep doing what you are doing in your garden. I like all the fun items you put into it. How old is your Granddaughter? Did you buy nursery plants or plant all that from seeds? Well, I know some are bulbs, but you probably knew what I meant.
LOL.. I like the anticipation when I click on Dori's photos!
Dori.. if you should feel like sharing your summer blooms with us... we'll be waiting with itchy clicker-fingers!
I'm glad this thread got bumped up again... such inspiration!
Dori, I have to revisited this thread every so often just to remind myself of how magical and enchanting a garden can be. One of my favorite gardens of all time.
Susan
