I am hoping all of the Dave's Gardeners who live in the PNW are safe and not experiencing problems from the excessive rain you are having. I heard from Lisa Hunt (Buggycrazy) today and they are safe but haveing problems with culverts, ditches and some of the fields. How are you doing, Pardalinum? Or any of the rest of you?
Pacific Northwest Members Flooded?
Hi Mainiac, I've been out of touch with the news lately and didn't know about the flooding. I'm glad Lisa is ok and hope Pardalinum is ok.
Hope everyone in that area is safe.
Maureen
We have had a very pleasant few days of lots of rain and temperatures in the 60s. I took time off work to finish planting lilies, mulching, and prepping my hanging baskets for spring. Worst flooding is up in WA and the coastal areas. Lots of mudslides along the coastal highways. After that long hot summer my backyard just soaked it all up and I didn't have any standing water. By late December and January when it rains like that my backyard will be flooded. Flooding problems around town were caused by plugged storm drains. I had to drive through some pretty deep water to get to work but the crews were out trying to keep up.
For those that aren't familiar with our weather patterns what we just experienced is called a Pineapple Express, when warm moist air moves up from the Hawaiian Islands.
