I found a pack of Japanese Double Morning Glory seeds at a garden shop while I was out browsing at lunch. I've seen pictures and links to sights telling about them, and since there was only one pack ... well they were calling out to me. I'm in zone 5, just NW of Chicago. Should I save them for next year?? Or is there a chance I can get flowers this year before we get a frost?? Will they survive if I bring them in for the winter?? Any help would be appreciated.
Is It Too Late???
wow!!! don't have a clue, but this was your lucky day!! You could wind up to be our source next year:)
You might could plant one or two, soak them good first. You never know.
I would agree, plant one or 2 NOW and save the rest for spring.I'm in zone 5 and we only have about 6 weeks till our firstfrost.
Oh, you guys - this is making me sad! Only 6 weeks until first frost...*sniffle*

DOUBLE morning glories?! Sounds unique!! I'd be jumpy about them, too! I agree with the advice to plant a few now and save the rest for next spring. The best way to keep them viable 'til then is in a jar with an airtight lid and a 1/2 inch or so of rice in the bottom to absorb any excess moisture ~ put the whole thing in the fridge. It wont hurt if they freeze, but I'd put them on the bottom shelf just because the temp is usually more stable down there.
