I bought 2 of these from Wayside Garden's special sale site at the end of August very very cheaply. They have been blooming for a month now.
I found out about this site on the Rose Forum and it is inactive now.
Tricyrtis Raspberry Mousse
I got one of those from a Nursery which sells on ebay, not very cheap but it is very new.
The flowers are so different, mine doesn't look as good as yours, it was nibbled and has finished flowering but it was a small plant. It has 2 seed pods on too, I don't know if proper seed will make.
The red parts are very dark, so dark the flash went off. It's a real beauty!
It is very beautiful!
I still have 2 more flowers that haven't opened.I don't think any seeds will form but you never know.On the tag it says that asexual reproduction of this plant w/o license is prohibited.Very new.
Interesting variety--thank you for showing it to us. How hardy is it?
I think Tricyrtis are not overly hardy, but there is apparently a health warning with this one! The colouring is said to be caused by a virus, whether this is carried through with tissue culture, if that is the way they reproduce it, I don't know.
An article to read

It says zone 6

I have another variety growing in my mountain garden zone 6.it has been there for about 5 years.
Wallaby1
Thanks for the links.Interesting info.

Are you going to destroy your plant?Mine are in pots and I can keep them away from other plants. What do you think?
I don't want to destroy it!
I do have a large patch of T hirta and I would hate to damage that, I'm not sure keeping them separate would help as viruses can be transferred by insects. Even if I kept it in a pot in a greenhouse insects go in there too.
The only thing I can think of is T hirta may be a bit later to flower than Raspberry Mousse, but if I put it in the ground that might change. I can't be certain either that they won't cross over their flowering times when it gets established.
Decisions!
Really enjoy these Tricyrtis plants I have planted. They are such a joy in the fall, when so many plants are done for the year. Does everything have to have a risk for a virus? Rats! The price of loving plants.... Thanks for the links; they were really informative.
