CLOSED: Unknown spider - friend or foe

Looks like this fella is missing a front paw. I got the camera right in his face, and this is the biggest picture I could get of him. He's not very big -- about 1 1/4" including legs. I want to make sure he's not a brown recluse, but if you could come up with a name that would be even better.

Not a recluse, but I don't know what it is...

My Mama would say it is DEAD! LOL She hates spiders!!! That one would give her nightmares for days!

Ooh, I just looked at my picture -- do I need to say that is a step to the outside from the basement? LOL! My floor isn't real clean, but it's a lot cleaner than that! Janet, it's just a baby!

As long as it's not a brown recluse, I'm okay.

I had a spider -- looked like a bigger version of this baby -- in a bathtub in a bathroom we don't use - a couple weeks ago. I thought it was stuck, so after a couple days I put a sweatshirt in there with the arm hanging out of the tub so he could crawl up and get out if he wanted. The very next day we had company from Kansas and the woman showed me a scar 1" deep and as big as my hand on her thigh. It was from when she put on a pair of jeans and a brown recluse, who was in her jeans at the time, bit her three times. She didn't go to the hospital for 2 weeks, after the entire area on her thight turned dark black (like the pictures on that website.) Gulp!

All I could think of was, "Boy am I glad those brown recluse spiders don't live here." So I look them up online to see what they look like and I get a double whammy! They DO live here! And have more than a passing resemblance to the spider in the tub. Which is near my bedroom and closet where I keep my clothes. I've been waiting to find a spider that looks like the one from the tub so I could come here and ask. Long story, sorry!

My mom was bitten by a brown recluse, then she almost died cause she was allergic to the anti-venom..
Anyway, she kept the spider.. it looked a LOT like a Daddy Long Leg and it was no bigger than a nickel.. but that fiddle on it's back was VERY clear, so always look for that.

I used to be more tolerant but lately my position is that spiders that try to live insidemy house have an undesirable genetic behavior trait which I am helping to eliminate from the population.........I apply this rule to all wolfy looking things like that one, and general house spiders. jumping spiders are protected here , as are flower/crab spiders
