the link above is the pic they bought. I still own the photo. they just bought the rights to use it on this plant tag (didn't tell me what company it was for). if they want to use it anywhere else they have to renegotiate. cool, isn't it?? not the best picture I ever took, or the best plant I ever grew, either. but it's the plant they were looking for. I think they liked it because it showed the weigela without a lot of other 'stuff' in the background...mostly mulch. and they needed it right away. spent a couple of hours on a Sunday fiddling around trying to upload it to their web site. their IT guys weren't around and their rep who contacted me couldn't get into their ftp site and my e-mail didn't want to mail it out full size. finally got it, so they paid me extra for my time.

sorry, Yank, no money plant pics

morning, Pix. when I saw there was another post I knew it was you...early riser!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Morning Gram...I actually slept late ths morning, well late for me anyway! That is so cool about the pic. Hope they paid you well! I have a picture coming out this month in a book at Barnes & Noble. They didn't pay me but it was the first contest I ever entered a picture in. DD pushed me into it, and when they wrote to say they wanted to use my picture I was flattered. When DD saw which photo I had submitted she said "Thats the one you entered?? You have some 10 x better." Kids...can't please em.

Oh, pix, that's really exciting. it's not about the money, although it was more than what I expected and they were willing to negotiate. I was flattered, too. what book?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ha Ha Ha I forget....I'll need to find the paper work they sent me so I can look for it. It's an expensive book, $50-60 but it has photos from all over the world in it. Have you ever gone to this site? http://www.picture.com/main.asp I go every morning and do the puzzle contest. (love puzzles) It has a place for you to enter in the photo contest too on the home page. Thats how I got picked...I entered. But the puzzle contest has a new puzzle everyday and you can win $50 if you do it at the right time and in the least amount of moves.

never looked at that site. I'll have to check it out.

Gram, how cool ! ! ! Just think how many people will see your pic. They wont know who took it but it's fun to have a pic put to use. Then to get paid for it makes it doubly nice.
Pixie, I bet you're excited, too.
Congrats to you both.

thanks, Andy. wish I could see the tag. I'll have to keep my eyes open at the nurseries

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'll be watching for those tags too as I plan on buying another Weigela this spring.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Congratulations Gram!
Actually every spring I curse my French Lace as it dies back so far. Of all the plants I have entered in plantfiles my Carnaval Weigela has by far garnered the most dmails.

There is a Robin that visits my Crab Apple tree for a snack. Shouldn't it have flown south by now?

We are going to need a new thread soon. I better find a pic for it, lol.

OK, lets move to a new thread. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/675182/
It didn't take long to come up with a pic for the new thread, lol. It's not new but fits.
See you there.
