How do you root an angels trumpet in water and can datura and Purple Heart, Purple Queen, Wandering Jew be rooted in water?
root in water
Angel's Trumpet are very easy to root in warter. Just stick 'um in a container with about 3 inches of water. In a few days you should see nubbies where the roots will eventually start growing. You might have to change the water every week or so depending on the variety. Some, like Dr. Seuss, rot easily and you have to change the water frequently. Others can go for weeks without any attention except to top the water off. I have carried them through the winter in water and planted them in pots in the spring. Dats don't winter well here so I just start over each spring sowing seeds. Purple Heart and Wandering Jew are also easy to root in water. Have fun!

you could also add a bit of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the water that you have cuttings in---it provides oxygen. I also use hp when I water all my plants as it kills fungus gnats and prevents root rot in the event of overwatering.

I did that too and you can see the oxygen bubbles on the stems. Thanks for that information though.
Here, Wandering Jew, you just take a piece and stick in the ground. Stuff takes over. You can't kill it.
