Buggycrazy strikes again....

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

OK, I admit to giving in to peer pressure. Buggycrazy has some simply lovely lilies and I fell for them. How could I resist after all I've heard here?

Here is the group that arrived a week ago and are safely marked & buried
Awesome, Firestorm, Godzilla, rubrum et al. Nice big bulbs just like everyone said.

But the BIGGEST was a "supersize" Leslie Woodriff that took 2 hands to hold! Look at this baby. I had to dig halfway to China to get it far enough under the earth.

Oh, go on. When your house closes on November 8th & you only have to pay for ONE mortgage, you'll be on easy street.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Oh Wanda, can't Tazzy have half of yours?? Nice looking bulbs! What's the one in the upper left?

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Wanda, I can feel your excitement! When Lisa says SUPERSIZE she really means it.

Poland, ME

I don't even dare look at her website for fear I will be ordering something!

Lindenhurst, NY

Nice looking bulbs. Peer pressure, so hard to resist.
I've been eyeing Leslie Woodruff, really pretty. I have some relatives of Leslie, maybe black beauty and another (if my memory serves me right)

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I bought a Black Beauty from her too. Seeing it competing in the Lily Nationals this summer made me want Leslie & Black Beauty more.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Okay....Okay.... Now this is unbelievable. Today I watched out my window , only to see a squirrel digging where I planted a "regular Size" Buggy Crazy bulb. The squirrel dug and as I opened my door to shoo him away, I watch this thing trying to lift the Buggy bulb. HE COULDN'T DO IT!!!! He left before being shooed, he simpIy gave up on that project. Buggy Crazy Lily Bulbs: Squirrel Proof! I did have to replant, but at least the neighbors didn't get my bulb :0) Hooray for Buggy Crazy (again)!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

LOL LOL LOL! Just too funny! I LOVE it! :)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

My only regret is not getting the camera out in time. It was so fun to watch live, that I couldn't leave. Besides that, I wanted to know where my bulb was going to get planted so I could quickly take it back. It was the best sight ever, I tell you. This poor squirrel. It was a big squirrel too. :0)

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Corde, you'll be happy you did. Just wait until you get that bulb! Did you just order one thing? If that's the case, your clicker finger isn't too bad. Lol!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

dawg you only ordered one .?
Have to do things in multi-ables

I bought from buggycrazy too and was sooooooo impressed with the size of her bulbs!!! I will return next year if i need more, never got such huge bulbs like that before!!!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

IF you need more?? LOL I didn't know there was a choice!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Moby--don't order more NOW! We gotta bury all those old ones in new holes first....

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

No, no, no ~ not any more this year. Too busy making labels for the 20 or so new ones, plus several that I never bothered to label because I knew what they were. And the ones that were crushed, lost, or otherwise mangled.

Just thought I'd sit down for a bit and rest that throbbing lump that sits on my shouders.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

You guys have been so good. You have gone ONE whole day without ordering from buggycrazy just so Lisa would have time to bring me my order. Thank you from the depths of my heart. You may now go back to ordering...

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Hey , she told me it might be too cold out to dig me more:0) There's only ONE way to test that theory....ORDER MORE!
Okay...I think I am done....for this year. Unless my squirrels are taking weightlifting classes.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

It has warmed up, magnolia. Raining. We had a couple nights of 22F here in town, probably colder over in the foothills where the farm is located. I have just 6 more to get in plus the camass bulbs. Then it's time to clean up the gardens, mulch, and retreat inside. Oh dear! I almost forgot another order is expected next week from Scheepers. Mostly tulips but I rounded the order out with 5 Citronellas. Now where am I going to plant those? It might be time to kick out another siberian iris or two...

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Tazzy, feast or famine is right. Should winter bring on hard times at the dawg's house at least I can dig ol' godzilla up, throw him in a pot and add an onion!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

You guys are totally BAAAAAAAAAD. My order from Lisa has arrived here in VA. Safely in fridge till I return north.

So exciting that I can finally order from her. Mega bulbs. Of course to me mega means - scaling -- not anti-squirrel bulbs. Story just too funny. Here we have don't know what - critters anyway so bulbs are planted in wire cages. Am currently lining a bed150 ft long with wire before planting with lilies. Thank goodness you don't have to do that with daff. bulbs.

Thank goodness for internet service at local libraries.

Pard your weather sounds pretty cold. I'm happy that Lisa could stop digging long enough to get out for your delivery. I'm really excited about trying this camass. I'm not familiar with the plant, but your description of the field full of them years ago, sounds lovely. Mass plantings always make a big statement and make you sit in awe. Needless to say, my planting of 2 camass will not be making that big of a statement, but if they do well here, I'll be hoping to get more next year.
Hey has anyone out there in zone 5 or colder, had luck with YURI NO HIKARI ? I read about that one in McRae's book and I had to try it. Lisa's notes on Buggy's website say it is a picky critter. I planted it in a place I had originally re-done for blueberries (that noteably failed) a mixture of sand& peat, with cow manure sprinlkled over the top now, right near some pine trees.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Glad you got you bulbs, Inanda ~ aren't they nice! Glad you made it to the library too.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

And now Moby can have a few "surprises" in her garden as we didn't find some lily labels as we moved them.
Lots of sun in her new yard--the asiatics are going to go NUTS>
