Ipomoea albivenia

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

I started two seeds this February. The little one hasn't been doing to much for a long, long time. I guess it's gone dormant but don't know why. The other one has been slow to but is getting a fatter bottom and putting out some growth.

Thanks

Hi Donna,

It is looking great! I started a seed of this species this year and it too is making the caudex. I brought it indoors before onset of cold autumn weather and it seems to be happily putting on new stem growth and leaves. I can't wait to see its flowers. I wonder if they are fragrant flowers?

Hi, Joseph. In the link I posted it says "The flowers are sweetly scented and open during the night". I can't wait to see if it will bloom to.

Cool beans! Thanks for the info! I have the I. albivenia located next to the Adenium for company.

How did the brugmansias do this year for you? This was a banner flowering year for many of my young brugs but Charles Grimaldi went on vacation in that regard and did not produce one flower...time to repot it I think.

i have this one also. right now one is not doing so good on the folige as it took a mild freeze and a cat got some of it( the runner it started). i recently had to transplant one and what you dont see it doing on top its doing in the soil. when i transplanted mine you should of seen the tuber in the soil it was bigger then what was on top.

Donna yours is bigger then mine though. and looks great!!!! i hope next season mine will bloom. if yours blooms you have to show it off.

Ok this is very interesting looking. I may have to get brave and try his one from seed.

The brugs were slow to make buds for me. I had one only bloom outside. I have a couple that had small buds that are still growing inside.

imzadi, I'll have to take mine out of the soil to see what's happening. I wondered if it was doing more underground than above...lol.

Marie it is very easy from seeds.

:) Donna
