I thought I had cranberry bush viburnum,

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

but just looked at plantfiles and the flowers don't match. Leaves look the same but mine flowers with the small ones in the center and some larger ones at the edge, in a flat cluster. I started it from a bush at the side of a bike trail here, so not sure if native or planted, can't remember. Bush is now 10+ yrs old and 8 ft high, wide. The berries are very sparse, only on or two at any place where there were flowers, so I'm considering taking it out in favor of something more productive for birds. I'll get a picture if anone is intersted and I find my camera.

There are three, maybe more, viburnums that are all very closely related and difficult to tell apart. Check out Viburnum opulus, Viburnum trilobum, and Viburnum sargentii. There are probably decent photos of each in Plant Files. From your brief description, my guess is V. sargentii.

Thanks Scott~~Looks just like the opulus americanus, or trilobum.
It blooms well but hardly any fruit. If I'm correct, is there a cross pollinater needed, and what could that be?
