Eclipse those are beautiful. Nothing at Lowes, HD, etc everything is being pushed out to make room for Xmas decorations! Like that stuff is important to people w/ serious plant addictions!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I second that!

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

Beautiful foliage pics people!!

I found some crotons @ HEB today, 3.99- same thing @ Kroger in the floral departments. Nothing spectacular, but I bought one.

What?

I know I didn't need it but dang it, I wanted it even if it wasn't that lovely pink!

Thanks for the propogating info! Like I said, I'm new at this. When I take a cutting, I just go to the top and cut it off and stick in water?
Dumb but anxious.

Gail....try air layering....it is easier, I think.

Somewhere I remember reading that even when taking a cutting from a known cultivar, there is no guarantee that the cutting will be EXACT!!! I know I have a deep pink one (green new foliage) and the cuttings have come out yellow thru orange thru red to pink. I wonder about the environment/nutrition affecting the colors of the leaves as they can to the flowers of hoyas of the same clone.

Hmmm that's interesting. You would think that a cutting would produce exact.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I have had that happen too, these things sport like crazy, and then revert again, go figure...LOL

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Well, no *wonder* there are so many amazingly beautiful cultivars out there!

I love crotons, but living where I do, it's very hard to get them. I found one in Des Moines a couple of years ago and that's it. Jim saved it from the frost this year.
