phicks - 'interesting'..(?)....I'm somewhat familiar with the presentation of blooms with actual fused tubes in Ipomoea purpurea ...can you post a sideview showing the base of the flower and the sepals...

outside of the tube clearly shows the demarcation of the separate tubes...this had 10 sepals altogether...6 are visible here
