Carol, yes I still have Lisianthus seed available. I don't think they can take too much shade. Should have at least 4 - 6 hours sun. You can Google to find out more about them. If you want some. let's just do postage. Dmail me if you want some seed set aside for you.
Hi Cindy, yes, I have the milkweed. Dmail me if you plan to send postage.
Pat

They arrived today. Thanks so much for the Lisianthus seeds.
Hello Pat,
I received my seeds also and wanted to Thank You SO MUCH! I can't wait to sow them and see if I can get them to grow.
Thank you again,
Kim
Here is a link to growing lisanthus from seed. Doesn't sound like it is for the easily discouraged!

Beaker,
If you have any more of the SR Milkweed and Prince Charles, Princess Diana, Engelina My Angel, Jackmanii Clematis seeds, I'd love a few.
I am moving and most of my seeds are packed up, but I have Esperanza "Yellow Bells", many colors of Crape Myrtle, a few Hyacinth Bean vine, and a few Pride of Barbados (don't know how the latter would do in your zone). LMK if you're interested in a trade .
Thanks,
Judy (dowon in ole' San Antone)
I'm sending a LSASE out in tomorrows mail with the seeds listed on a note for you. Thanks so much.
Judy
Sorry so late, but I did mail out my SASBE today. I was going to mail earlier but was out of stamps, and had to wait to get to the PO. Thanks again!
Kim
Judy, you need to dmail me.
I got mine today. thank you
Has any one had luck germinating the lisianthus?
Hi Cindy, did I send you seed? Hum....
Anyway, I haven't tried yet and it's probably getting too late to do so. Just don't have my act together right now. I did find some info on starting them:
"Lisianthus can be a challenge to start from seed because it’s very sensitive to temperatures over 75 degrees. Be careful to keep temperatures below this throughout the process or it will cause rosetting, or a resting stage. These resting stages can last for weeks or even months, making it hard to get young plants large enough to set out in your garden by spring.
Sow seeds in early winter (mid-December to January, or 16 to 22 weeks before your average last frost date. Saturate a good-quality, fine peat and vermiculite-type potting medium and spread the seed on top. Cover the container with a plastic dome or a plastic wrap secured with a rubber band to hold in the moisture. Place fluorescent or grow lights ½ to 1 inch above the cover on your container. The seeds should receive 16 hours of light per day until the seedlings start to emerge, in about 2 weeks. During this time keep the temperature constant — 70 to 75 degrees."
I also found conflicting info on germination times. Parks says 10 day and The Seed Site says 21 days.
That is better info than I have and wiil try the light method. I have them in a window but they are not getting 16 hrs of light. Yes you did send seed and I was finally able to get seed off mine. I just haven't had any luck germinating the seed. I will try again. This is my favorite flower and it is never available here at our nuseries. I found the one that I have at WM nearly dead from overwatering. I nursed it back and now have it inside for the winter. It's doing pretty good so far. I know it is late to start seed for this year but I'm going still try.
