Biscombe - Sorry, I don't do veggies, however 52 cents in postage will get you seed of both. I'm in the address exchange.

Gail - The mini dahlia seed sounds good. Let's trade.

Shirley - If you just want to do postage, that's OK. BTW would you be interested in any clematis seed? If so, dmail me.

Lea - There's enough seed for you. Let me know what you have to trade or point me at your trade list.

Kim - I don't need Dats, but you're welcome for postage. I haven't actually grown these from seed, but I understand they can be challenging. Maybe someone on the Seed Saving forum will have some tips.

Anaid - I'd like some of the lavender cosmos (is it really lavender???) and.... I'll have to get back to you after I research what a few on your list are.

Just so you know what to expect, the seeds are very tiny, so each trade will be less than 1/8 tsp. That will still give you a lot of seed to play with. I put the seed through a small strainer, so it's fairly clean. The blue is really more of a royal purple, but the rich coloring is beautiful. The pink is sort of a dusky pink. The attached picture shows the blue really well, but the pink is sort of lost.Tthere are a few on the right edge just above some pink petunias.

Will dmail u my addy; pls snd yours

Your whole garden looks lovely, nice color! nice job! That white just kind of sets it off too, the Lisianthus looks lovely, I love those colors!
Lea

Mount Crawford, VA

Hi do you still have some lisianthus seeds. I just got acquainted with this flower this summer and they're absolutely beautiful. I don't have much to trade but some hardy hibiscus seed, pink, or pink blush. I'm rather new to this collecting seed business, trying hard to learn! Thanks. Donna

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Hi Anaid - Tiny seeds are really difficult to handle. Sometimes mixing with sand makes it a little better in that you're not dumping a hundred seeds at a time into one pot. I try to get a few seeds stuck to my finger and try to brush off the excess. I usually don't like to have more than 3 seeds in a starter pot, but with stuff this small, just do your best. I'm a big fan of container gardening. I'm sure they would do just fine, but you may have to stake them early.

Biscombe, I just noticed you're in Spain. Dmail me and we can talk about getting seeds to you. I don't think 52 cents will do it.

Lea - Thanks for the compliment. The white is Phlox David and every year it seems to get added to another part of my garden. Lovely plant.

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Hi Donna, The hibiscus probably aren't hardy here in the bone chilling, frozen north. You can send me 52 cents in postage though. I'm in the address exchange.

Hi, do you have any lisianthus left? I'd love to try them. I have a seed box but haven't had time to go through it and see what all is in there, most are probably last years but should be fine since I've kept them inside in a cool place. I'd go look now but I have to take my pup to the vet and will probably be there pretty much all day. Is there anything in particular you're looking for in trade? I do have some fresh amaryllis seed that a neighbor gave me though I don't know what color they'll end up being. LMK, thanks!

Diana

TAYLOR, TX(Zone 8a)

O, am I too late? Would love both colors and some of the clematis if you still have it. For postage or if you are interested I have some Tall MGs and some JMG Shibori MG seeds available. Will have some esperanza seeds soon.

Louanne

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Kim - received postage today. Your package will go out tomorrow.

I have several trades left...

Diana - Not looking for anything in particular. Not really interested in Amaryllis. I'd be more interested in something for the garden.

Louanne - I'd be interested in the JMG seed. I'm not familar with esperanza. What is this?
Clematis seed I have:

Miss Bateman
Nelly Moser
Prince Charles
Princess Diana
Engelina My Angel
Jackmanii

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Ohhhh Pat, I want some of your clematis seeds. I love clematises and I don't have any of those...

Mullins, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh goodness, I just noticed which zone you are in! Here, amaryllis is a garden plant. I'll look through later and see what I have that might be hardy for you, I'm so pooped right now and news wasn't good for my Priss today. She has to have surgery Thursday morning for a tumor. Poor little baby, she's 12 years old and this is going to be hard on her :(

I just saw lisanthus last summer at the Clemmens-Munsinger Gardens in St. Cloud Mn. I want some seeds really, really bad. If you have any trades left I have purple and white cleome (separated); Very dark wine hollyhock with fringed edges on the petals; cosmos, of course; a light pink satiny mallow, purple malva several others I can't recall right now as I am at work (Yes, I am working really hard, today!) Here is the one that is the most uncommon at least in gardens around here. Euphorbia Marginata - Summer Icicle: http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/us/product/1970/1 . I am an hour north of Brainerd, in zone 3 and I find it will reseed somewhat, but I always save seeds to start early and get the largest healthiest plants that way. - sorry for the non-latin names, but I am just too busy growing flowers to have to stop and study technical stuff!! :o)

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Got mine today....can you tell me how to get the best growth from seed? Do you grow them from seed as well? Oh, and are they hardy to zone 7B or will I need to collect seed each year. I saw where you said they need to be planted in January...is that inside or in the garden spot to grow...thanks so much for doing this it was very generous of you! Can't wait to add them to a spot in my garden!
Janet

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Hey BasketCase, my ex was from Backus. What a small world. The yellow Iris in my garden was given to me by my mother-in-law almost 30 years ago and whenever I've moved, I've always made sure to bring a clump with me to start over. No problem, I'll put seed aside for you. I'll have to get back to you on a trade. Too much going on right now.

Hi Janet, this was my first year and I picked them up at a local plant sale this spring. All I can tell you is that they need to be started very early for a mid to late summer bloom. The plant seems to do everything slow. I waited forever for seed. I have also heard they are difficult to grow because they are very subsceptible to fungus gnats and crown rot. Once going good, they didn't seem any harder to maintain than any other plants in the garden and actually seemed to thrive during our 3 week heat wave of almost 100 degree weather. I suggest you Google for culture information. I was thinking they would be a good winter sowing seed for zones where the plant is hardy. I think that would eliminate some of the problems they are prone to indoors. I'm going to try these myself this winter so maybe we can all meet in the Propagation forum in Janurary and exchange our stories of success and/or failure.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks for the information and of course for the seeds..it will be fun seeing what grows this winter during our projects won't it! I will do a little research on these as well. Have a good week!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

Is it possible to get some lisianthus seed for SASBE? I don't have much to offer in trade that would work for you except a lavender morning glory. I included a pic. I would love to try some of this though.

Thanks, Kim

BasketCase - I'll trade for the Euphorbia Marginata. I don't see you in the address exchange, so either dmail me your address or add yourself to the exchange.

Joshua, TX(Zone 8a)

beaker, if you still have any Lisianthus seeds I would love to get some. Did I read right that they can grow in partial shade?

Would you prefer trade or postage? These are the only thing I have currently to be able to trade. I'm just/still learning about seeds.

I have LOTS of (volunteer no name) cantalope seed that produced fairly well this year. (If they grew in my ground they will grow ANYWHERE!). I have LOTS of red poppy and baby's breath in seed packets
Commercial seed: Tx Paintbrush, bloomsdale spinach, sweet slice cucumber, sugar baby watermelon
Seeds that I collected from flowers: short marigold, cyclamen, kolanche pink- yellow-orange (if the seeds are IN the little elongated flower itself), (few) maroon columbine, and I can get some Angel Trumpet seeds from my mom if you want. She may also have black-eyed susan vine.
Seeds I have available that are older (don't know if still viable): pumkin, chinese tallow, okra, bluebonnets ~~~ Carol

Northeast, LA(Zone 8a)

Beaker if you have milkweed seed left I would love some for postage.LMK Cindy
