Yea! I'm so glad there arrived in good shape. I was worring about the cold.
Enjoy your new babies. Please post pictures when they bloom:)
Point me in the right direction....lol
It's Glad Press-n-Seal. It's relatively new to the market, been out maybe a couple of years now. I really love it for wrapping bare root plants... I moisten a paper towel, add a slap of rehydrated powdered moisture crystals, wrap around the roots, then wrap with press-n-seal, being sure to snug it up against the stem right above the roots. Roots stay moist, foliage (wrapped florist-style in paper) stays dry, and the plant travels very well.
Using the press-n-seal wrap is the only "improvement" I've made to Allison's packing method for AVs (she likes tape better). :-) I like the way you can nest the styrofoam cups together -- sometimes I tape them into a "raft" -- because that makes it easy to sit the plants in the middle of the box so there's plenty of room for packing peanuts on all sides.
Here is an updated pic of the violet leaves and plants I recv'd from Critter and Jan back in Oct. They seem to be coming along well. Took this pic today when I moved them to the big shelving unit. I use that one for my tomato and pepper seeds and figured I'd move the violets in there. They're still draped in plastic and under lights. They really seem to like the humidity in their "tented" home.
Merry Christmas everyone !!!!
