My neighbor has what I think is an Easter lily that's been just hanging by a thread for a few years. I fertilized it last fall, and it bloomed this year. It's in a very shady spot, so I figured I'd move it to a sunny spot where it would have a better chance. There's a lot of little bulblets, and a few larger ones with roots, maybe acorn sized. Should they all be planted three times their diameter deep? Deeper?Shallower?
I tried to look at old threads, couldn't find the answer...Thanks in advance!
Mike
How deep should stem bulblets be planted?
Most bulbs should be planted 2-3 times their height ~ so you have the right idea to plant them accordingly. As they grow and mature, they will pull themselves down to where they want to be.
Good luck!
Great, thank you very much. I did read the thread about the roots pulling the bulbs deeper, and I've seen it happen in some of my Asiatics, it is amazing. I'll plant them tomorrow
Good deal ~ happy to help.
