Cute faces there, Robert! So far, all the ones with fairly thin petals don't have good keeping quality, but the ones with thick, stiff petals -- Duke, Penang Peach, Intense Rainbow, Nebel's Rainbow, Teresa Wilder -- all have good keeping quality. I'd say Duke has one of the best keeping quality so far.

Yes Clare i say the Duke is a great plumie she looks great smells great and has a great keeping quality..
I think the hilo beauty is another one along with my flamingo pink..
Thanks for the update clare..

Duke? Did someone mention Duke? Oh...I so hope I get flowers off of mine next year...he did put on quite a bit of growth over the summer but sadly no inflos.

Chantell, Duke has a fantastic keeping quality. Here's a pic:

Mercy are those rich colors or what?!! Added bonus of veining (hope that's the word I'm thinking of) - yes?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Yes, Chantell, I agree. It is producing gorgeous colors right now at a time when blooms are getting lighter due to the colder season. It's a keeper and has the best keeping quality. The fragrance is nice too. It's not a real strong fragrance, but it is definitely pleasant.

It has been delightful reading all of your e-mails about plumeria. Wish I had read them before I pruned them all day before yesterday; would have waited for spring! Have been trying to identify the three types I have from your pictures but am not successful. Oh well will just enjoy, enjoy. Since I have two trees over 12 feet tall; the remainder are now only 3- to 4-feet but I have a LOT of them. Ginny, Southern California

Here is a shot of my duke..
Amazing how they look different in other areas..

Very nice pic, as always!!! I can't wait!!

Ginny, where did you get your trees from? If they were brought back from Hawaii, they are probably not named and registered cultivars, but I am sure they are some lovely hybrids. The named and registered ones are usually more expensive and usually found in specialty nurseries like Florida Colors, etc.

Thanks, Robert and Chantell. Yes, my Duke looks different sometimes from other Dukes, and I'm sure it is based on climate and heat. Here is a pic of it last winter when it bloomed in the greenhouse.

Not only climate and heat Clare but really neat nutrients by a mad plumerian ;=/

Interesting, Robert! That is a little too sophisticated for me to dabble in. If I have to think too hard in the garden, it just feel like work. Sometimes, it feels too much like work now! I like just flying by the seat of my pants:-) By the way, Duke, TW, and Intense Rainbow were the last three of the flowers to remain unblemished. They have the best keeping quality in my book.

Here is a new one today:

It is a bit crowded for sure. Here it is with labels:

I just realized that I forgot to add a few cultivars like my most cherished Teresa Wilder! Oh, well, next time:-)

I took another pic of the ring again today and re-labeled it so that the names are easier to read.

What a great job you did, Clare!!! Very, very nice...like the greenery along the borders!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Chantell! That is a Ming Fern, which is often used in corsages. I just love it!

Here is my ring from today

Siam Red is predominant; others are Ryann Chelsey, Vera Cruz Rose, Hazy Pink, Intense Rainbow and Mele Pa Bowman

I think Id like to make a few of these and fire them at a high school.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

You definitely should, Michael!

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Clare that ring must smell heavenly..
:=()

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

It did, Robert! I left it outside though, and the wind wreaked havoc on the blooms, but it was nice while it lasted!

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Michael - that's a great idea!! I wouldn't think they'd be too hard to make!! Post pics, if you do, please!!

Clare - :( sorry to hear about that nasty wind.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Chantell! That's okay because I didn't have any broken branches! Oftentimes, plumeria branches can snap easily in the wind, and if a plumie is top heavy or pruned poorly, the trunk can split in two or more ways. This has never happened to me, but I've seen pictures of it recently here in Southern California. The good side of that is that you can start more plants with the cuttings!

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Wow... again, wow... showing my dad pictures of these rings because I've begun to get him addicted to plumeria, and he's jealous... thinks they're gorgeous... his favorite was the coral vine one... lovely

Brittany, there is another thread on this forum that shows more rings. I'll see if I can find it and attach a link.
