I've been restlessly watching the bud grow, hopeful of another deep pink. I've taken pictues every day to records it's progress. This morning the bud looked like this
Another Rosemond Seedling ......
At 6 PM the flower had unfurled into this. It's white now but there is a slim chance it will turn pink. Even if it doesn't change, it is definitely a keeper, look at the tendrils. I plucked a Whiskers Flower and did a side by side comparison of the tendrils. The white has thicker and maybe just a tad longer tendrils.
Oh Judy... I can't wait to see more pics of THIS one!! Way to grow!
Barb
Looks like she should color up next Summer with some warmer weather ;-))
Good Luck Judy
Pretty one, hope it gets some color.
FWIW, Judy, I luv white and only have one in my garden. I have Tiara, but she is more of a creamy yellow, not really white. Your bud showed pink in one of the pics, I bet she will darken up. Regardless of her color, she is lovely!!!
SherryLike,
Isn't she.... I'm so very proud of her. I thought I saw a tinge of pink but then again thought it was wishful thinking.
I'm off to take more pictures....... I won't get any sleep tonight.
We miss you on the Mid-South Forum
Judy
Gosh, Judy, thanks!
I saw the pink in one of the first pic, I knew you would score - good luck!!!
Fingers crossed for you!! I'll bet it surprises you!!
Bonnie
Barb, Scoot, Hibiscus, Bonnie & Sherry,
Thank you for taking this journey with me. I can't express how excited I am. I have just worn myself out being all hyper and hopeful that she's as pretty as the last one, but different.
I'm going to bed now and get up early in the morning to see what she has become.
Judy
Oh, she's a beauty, Judy! (The photo I sent a couple day ago was from the same batch of seeds. As you can/could see - she's alot happier in the South!) I do love the plant, though, and am toying with the idea of keeping her going through the winter. What to you think?
I can send you lots of cuttings, but I'd be anxious to see what the blooms were like come spring.
Judy
Judy,,, just beautiful.. it is sooo amazing how they start out one color and then change. Bet she smells good too. thanks for sharing, Elaine
Well, I did lay down but got right back up. BigDaddy (Bob) has gone out to take another picture. I didn't want some bug flying up my gown!!!
Judy
I'm thinking if I can rig up a nie light set-up in the basement, near the furnace, she should flourish and "give birth" early in the season. She is already close to 4' tall. Certainly worth the try, no?
Sequee, worth a try. Dose her with Bayer Advanced 2-in-1 Rose as a preventive against spider mites. Use about 3/4 of the recommended dose for a rose. Then if she gets insects email me and I'll tell you what to get since you only have the one. I've learned a lot about insecticides this summer and the one I'll recommend is "safe", can't think of the name of it at this moment and the bottle on the back porch.
PS Repeat the Bayer treatment every 3 weeks.
Oh Judy, how pretty is this one...!!! You sure have done a good job with those brugs...
Kris
Nice, just the right amount of recurve , I love her overall shape and the curled points.
Really good job Judy. Really pretty.
OMG - had to get an early morning fix before I go to work. Very nice!!!
BTW, there are 8 altogether, the rest of them are considerably smaller, and they are already cut back to go dormant. They will all be in the basement. 7 under the countertop, Rosamond near a window and in a spot light!
Sequee
I was up taking pictures at 4:30 AM. Poor Bob moaned you're not letting me get any sleep!!
Judy
What sleep? Plenty of time to sleep when this blossom is DONE. SHEESH!
Judy, you have a beauty there real dark. I think you have a winner there, I sure hope you trail it and hopefully name it.
Ruth
Oh Judy.. I am so happy for you. She is absolutely beautiful~~~ This is so exciting.. Thank you so much for the posting.. Felt like I was right there. Beautiful... Congratulations!
Judy,
Thanks so much for sharing all the beautiful pictures! I missed this yesterday evening and just loved watching all the color changes. I'm kinda glad I didn't see it till now - didn't have to sit on pins and needles like y'all did :-)
Sharon
That is pretty, you done good, Judy !
Loretta
I'm certainly glad I shared the seeds since I can't seem to get a flower! All of the seeds have germinated, though, and I've got lots of babies! My day will come!
Judy, That is stunning. I loved the adventure. I am so excited to get into the Brug frenzie. I am getting a few cuttings from some great DG friends. If you have any seeds or cuttings later on, I would love to try them here in Utah. I am Sure they would love it here.

I'm sorry but within the next 10 days, we are having 2 Mini_RoundUps which we call Gatherings over on the Mid-South Forum. I'm taking my cuttings to the people attending these events. I will not be having any seeds available, although I have mega seed pods forming at present because it is too late for them to ripen before the branches are cut. However if things should change I will email you. I know all too well what it is like to be a newby to Brugs!!! I begged and pleaded for cuttings also. The best luck I had was trading other plants and bulbs for cuttings.
Warning: I would say 50% of my cuttings died either because I didn't know what I was doing, the cuttings were too green or the person sending them didn't take care of them properly before they were shipped. Don't get disheartened should this happen to you, just keep trying. There are many ways to root cuttings you will just need to find the one that suits you best.
