Seeds

I love this time of year, just for the gathering of seeds...more precious than gold! Here is the harvest from just one vine!

Indeed! I have seeds all over the place on shelves, top of the fridge, tv, computers, anywhere that my inquisitive kitties can't get to.

Bringing in the seeds! Bringing in the seeds!
We will go rejoicing....Bringing in the seeds!

did anyone else sing this in church? My DH always thought it referred to "cheese". I prefer seeds.

I sing it whenever I collect nice seeds...I feel close to God whenever I work with the plants >more so than in any particular building...and if someone wants to sing about bringing in the cheese >that's okay too >you can celebrate anything you want...

P.S. - baolvera, looks like you have a nice harvest of Ipomoea purpurea going on there...

Beth you make me laught. I loved that song and seeds is just as appropriate. I led singing at church for about 25 years, but couldn't get away with that. At home was another thing. When my children were small and and we were butchering chickens, we would all put a hand inside a chicken and make it flap its wings, and we would sing
"some glad morning , when this life is over, I'll fly away, to my home on God's celestial shore............................ and still today 20 years later when we are together we sing it and laugh til we cry over over it. My seeds are all gathered and drying and ready to be passed down to the litle gardeners to begin their first morning glory adventure next year. and then in time to come, I will be able to share some harvest of the ones you shared with me. @Ron, you amaze me with your ability to identify varieties by seed. You are very observant!

@fchilders...what a mental picture that evokes, you've got me giggling at work!

I brought in the immature seed heads along with the vines I pulled off the trellis. I put them in a paper bag and about 75% of them have matured by now. I am waiting for the last few seed heads to turn brown! This seems to work rather well!
