Just ordered two lg. sissoo trees for our backyard. Hope we did the right thing? We are getting up in years and need shade from the west sun. Can't wait for smaller trees to grow. Does anyone have any information on sissoo trees?
Any ino on sissoo trees.
I can't find a listing in PF. What's the latin name?
Perhaps this is the plant you are thinking of? http://www.desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Fabaceae/Dalbergia_sissoo.html
If so, I have no clue. Hopefully some Southern/Moderate climate readers can chime in.
Some more info here: http://hort.ufl.edu/trees/DALSISA.pdf

Ernie

Hey Jarm! You should ask your question over on the Southwest forum. I'm not growing the tree myself, but I know there are some huge fans of this tree here in AZ and that's where you'll find them. I do know they can will grow fairly fast with plenty of water, but will handle a lot less water when established, and make great shade trees. They are very recommended and a lot of people are putting them in.

Thanks to all of you who replied to my question about sisso trees. I just joined Dave's Garden and I was surprised to receive replies so quickly.
