Inside MG in a 6" pot

Brooksville, ME(Zone 5a)

I took this with my $10.00 ebay camera so its not great. Doesn't show the blue very well or very focused. Thought it was worth a picture though since we took this plant to decorate my daughters room a few weeks ago when she was in the hospital and it looks better now than it did before the week long stay where it was watered with chlorinated water. Barney said I would kill it. Guess it wil live. Even has some seed pods on it now. Don't know what it is. One of my "bottom of the tray" seeds that turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Has a few varigated leaves and is definitely a japanese of some type.

fairyhunter - Nice looking plant...the leaves are almost heart shaped and with only a few light sections with varigation...Candystripe Purple often has leaves like the one on your plant...the flower on yours looks to be of a quasi-translucent lavender-violet...can't say for sure what cultivar it is,but the $10 e-bay camera is good enough to let us see that you have something good going on there(!)...

Thanks for sharing your flower...

here is a picture my daughter took. She had a disposable camera and had a cd made and I had several pictures of my Morning Glory on it! This shows a more accurate shade of blue. I really need a new camera

It has now stopped blooming but it has 1 seed pod that didn't fall off. Nice and plump. I think I will try to winter this plant over in my basement. I am going to keep it in the little pot so I don't have to lug a heavy pot around

Looks like a very healthy thriving plant! Congrats!

Keep it happy so the seeds develop!

very lovely and amazing - still can't get over indoor MGs. These images of indoor MGs from you and others on this forum are so encouraging as I moon over cuttings in water (per Ron's advice) that are forming roots on I. purpurea "Double Blackie" and EmmaGrace's Rose and Chocolate Silk MGs. Still too soon to tell if the 2 pods from each of those will yield viable seed...fingers crossed.
