Cornus kousa fanatics

Peoria, IL

I'm cleaning up my image files and found this one. Does anyone know which cultivar of Kousa Dogwood this is? The green/variegated bracts are really throwing me for a loop here. It's from an unlabeled plant at Hidden Lakes Garden. I should contact them and see if they know but thought I'd try here first. I looked through all of the Kousas at the New Ornamentals Society without spotting a match although my eyes began to glaze over about half way through the list. If anyone isn't familiar with the site, it is a great resource for plant junkies! http://members.tripod.com/~Hatch_L/nos.html

Thanks in advance,
Ernie

Nice pic and plant. I noticed Whitman Farms has a number of cultivars and you might want to contact them for an ID. They are a DG sponsoring vendor.

Growin,

Thanks for the lead. I'll check in with them if things get more desperate.

Wow, that is a great site. They mention a couple with green bracts, but not with white margins like your mystery kousa

If you're visiting Bernheim regularly...they were trialing Cornus kousa while Cappiello was in residence. Must have had 70 odd clones in the corral; I bet this one is there (bad time of year for examining bracts, though).

Rick Caldwell is a staff horticulturist there, and benevolent soul. Give him a ring.
